Paulina Pršlja comes from Ljubljana, a city of dragons located in Slovenia. She graduated with a Chemistry degree from the University of Ljubljana at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical technology. During her master studies in 2017 she researched at Instituto de Química Física Rocasolano in Madrid within the ERASMUS+ programme. Later she moved to Tarragona, Spain, where she pursued a PhD in Physical and Inorganic Chemistry within the Marie Curie ELCoREL ITN program at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia. Her thesis work focused on studying carbon based single atom catalysts, a material used for CO2 reduction towards valuable products such as CO, CH3OH, and CH4. After obtaining a PhD degree in 2021, she moved to Finland as a postdoc in Miguel Caro’s group at Aalto University. Paulina’s current research interests concern the modelling of Cu-based alloys for electrochemical CO2 conversion using first principles and machine learning.
