Theoretical, computational, and machine learning surface and material scientist, specializing in modelling materials and surfaces at the atomic and electronic levels. Studied at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, collaborating on projects with Doc. Pavel Kocán from the university and Doc. Pavel Jelínek of the Nanosurf group, Institute of Physics, Czech Academy of Sciences. During his Ph.D. studies, he was an exchange student in the group of Prof. Lars Pettersson at Stockholm University. After obtaining his Ph.D. in autumn 2017, he moved to Aalto University, in Finland, as a post-doc under Prof. Adam Foster. He received a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship in 2019. Subsequently, he joined the group of Prof. Patrick Rinke as a research fellow at the Aalto University. In 2025, he joined the group of Prof. Milica Todorović at the University of Turku, Finland, to work on modelling of semiconductor devices. In November 2025, he was awarded a Research Council of Finland Fellowship to develop machine learning tools for predicting atomic surface structures at Aalto University. His work includes more than 20 publications, the development of several scientific software tools, a portfolio of different modelling methods including density functional theory and machine-learned interatomic potentials, as well as simulations of various experiments for diverse projects.
